Because every student develops differently, we organize our school into learning communities rather than focusing exclusively on traditional grade levels. Our core learning communities follow the developmental stages of the Classical Trivium while recognizing that every student’s educational journey is unique.
The Classical Trivium
- Little Springs (Pre-Grammar | Ages 5–7 | Grades K–2)
- Creeks (Grammar | Ages 8–11 | Grades 3–6)
- Rivers (Logic | Ages 12–14 | Grades 7–9)
- Bays (Rhetoric | Ages 15–18 | Grades 10–12)
Students progress through these learning communities as they develop the habits of mind, character, and academic skills associated with each stage of the Classical Liberal Arts tradition.
The Lakes
For students in grades 7–12 whose future goals are better served through vocational training, apprenticeships, military service, entrepreneurship, or direct entry into the workforce, The Living Water School offers The Lakes.
Rather than following the traditional college-preparatory pathway of the Bays, students in the Lakes receive an education tailored to their individual gifts, interests, and vocational calling. They continue to grow within our Koinonia community while emphasizing practical life skills, career exploration, mentorship, entrepreneurship, and individualized learning experiences that prepare them for meaningful adult lives.
At The Living Water School, we believe every student’s calling has dignity and purpose. Whether a student pursues college, a skilled trade, military service, entrepreneurship, or another path, our goal is the same: to help each learner faithfully develop the gifts God has given them and prepare them for lives of wisdom, service, and meaningful contribution.
